Foundation Projects

The Key Peninsula Parks & Recreation Foundation raises funds for local active and passive parks and recreation programs through various channels, but especially through its designation as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Some of the past projects that have been achieved partly due to funds raised through the Foundation include ...
  • 2020: Foundation donates $25,000 for the Splash Pad in Gateway Park which opened in May 2021!
  • 2018: Foundation commits to raising $50,000 toward the Phase 3 development of Gateway Park, which includes a splash pad. More than $2,000 is raised at the annual Fourth of July Community Hot Dog Social alone.
  • 2017: Nearly $17,000 is raised by the Foundation and donated toward the Phase 1 development of Gateway Park, with part of that donation being earmarked for the playground zip line and the art brackets on the pavilion.
  • 2014: The picnic shelter is erected and dedicated in April 2014 at Key Peninsula Civic Center.
  • Continuous: The Foundation regularly provides partial scholarships to low income families wishing to participate in fee-based activities like 5k Fun Runs, and more.
